2026 is going to be special as we move out of the virtual space created by the previous administrator and back into the community.
Our first ‘Community (Social) Enterprise Hub’ will open in the East Midlands in time for Easter and will be followed by others across the country over the course of the year.
As the name suggests, the Hubs will bring communities together in helping to achieve our core goals:
- Supporting marginalised communities across the world in standing on their own feet through recognising the value in their culture, art and craftsmanship, mainly through their women.
- Supporting young people locally in developing altruistic thinking and supporting their attempts to make a difference in their communities, in the world generally and in themselves
- Developing community support for both the above through mentoring, networking, skills building, expertise and, critically, through financing HUBs
- Fair Trade shops; Regular Talks & Presentations from around the world; focal points for TED Talks and Discussion; Workshops; Meeting space…..and much much more.

As we embark on the new year we have identified a number of individuals we have worked with over the last couple of years and are supporting them in building careers as diverse as autism counselling, scuba diving, boxing, interspecies communication and wine selling.
We intend to make it an interesting year and our goal is to reach out to 500 such individuals during the course of it…..through our growing hub network. Follow their stories on this website. Join us!
One of the particularly interesting projects we will be working on this year is in Interspecies Communication, operating on dolphin watching boats and with autistic children and experimenting with the latest academic thinking on such as ‘Emotional Intelligence’ and ‘Sounds of Emotion’. Huge benefits in terms of developing key skills and self belief/confidence in the children involved, in spreading awareness of conservation issues and of things we all must do and….just maybe… in interspecies communication! Again, watch this space.
And of course trading, fairly,- helping people stand on their own feet in support of not just their family and community but also their environment and nature. Our motto, they must be happy to see us …but not too happy!
